Below are some common questions about our products
Do you offer International shipping?
While we currently only ship within the United States, Valaurum.com has retail partners listed on their website, some of whom ship internationally. We are also working on the logistics needed to ship our unique product internationally and hope to ship to international customers soon. If there is a coin store or retailer in your area that you wish carried our products, refer them to Valaurum's wholesale program.
Are Aurum® legal currency?
Some Aurum® are legal tender currency in a specific jurisdiction, while the value of other Aurum® are based on the underlying value of the gold, or their collectibility. All Aurum® bear a legal tender notice, unless the particular product is clearly not a currency.
What is my Aurum® worth?
Different Aurum® are produced for numerous governments and private retailers. These products can have different weights or collectible values. The best place to start when assessing their value is your retailer. You are also welcome to contact us.
Do Aurum® oxidize or tarnish?
Gold is naturally resistant to forming an oxide, also called a tarnish or rust. Additional processes ensure that, unlike other metals, the margins of a gold Aurum® will never show any tarnish. This means that your Aurum® will retain the high sheen and clear color even after years of storage and exposure to air.
Can I retrieve the gold from my Aurum®?
Yes! The precious metals within each Aurum® can be retrieved using standard fire assay techniques. Fire assay is an inexpensive, routine procedure for jewelers and metal refiners, but it should never be attempted by inexperienced metal workers or without the correct tools.
Where does your gold come from?
The manufacturer of all Aurum®, Valaurum, sources gold from the same refineries that the US government uses. All of it is traced conflict free and has an audited chain of custody with a significant proportion of it being recycled gold. We’re actively looking at ways to offer both artisanal gold and fully recycled gold in the future.
I have Aurum® that I want to authenticate. How do I do that?
If you own Aurum® that you would like to authenticate you can reach our team here via this form.
